Community Support

At Teledyne Lumenera, we make great efforts to give back to our community.

Teledyne Lumenera donated forty-eight of their high performance research-grade microscopy cameras to be used as a teaching tool in science classrooms across the city of Ottawa. Learn more.

The BioBus is a mobile laboratory aimed at giving students the opportunity for hands-on scientific exploration. In partnership with BioBus, Teledyne Lumenera has donated seven of their high-performance, research-grade microscopy cameras to be used on the bus. Visit the BioBus website here.


Lumenera going green

In addition to our Community Support, Teledyne Lumenera also gives back to the community through the Green Program. This continuous philosophical change is fully supported by the Green Team, Teledyne Lumenera's Management and staff. Read more!

breast cancer walk

For every INFINITY2-1R camera sold Teleddyne Lumenera donates $20 to support Breast Cancer Research. Teledyne Lumenera employees showed their support for this worthy cause through participating in the CIBC Run for the Cure, helping to create a future without breast cancer.


eyewear

Teledyne Lumenera employees donated prescription eyewear and non-prescription sunglasses to OneSight. This organization distributes recycled eyewear worlwide to adults and children in need. Teledyne Lumenera employees collected 21 pairs of prescription glasses and 23 pairs of sunglasses!

towel-challenge

Ottawa Homeless and Women's shelters are always in need of some very basics items such as towels and because of the generosity of Teledyne Lumenera's employees, 106 towels were donated to help those in need.


Santa Shuffle

Teledyne Lumenera participates in the annual Santa Shuffle Fun Run & Elf Walk to help The Salvation Army assist families and individuals in need during the Holiday season and throughout the year.

Toy Mountain

Teledyne Lumenera participates in an annual Toy Mountain Campaign to help the Salvation Army distribute toys to Ottawa's less fortunate children.


Cystic Fibrosis

During the summer of 2009 Teledyne Lumenera hosted a carnival day featuring a dunk tank and pie throwing station. Staff were able to 'dunk' or 'pie' their co-worker for a donation to charity. The recipient of these funds was the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Donations were matched by Teledyne Lumenera.

Ottawa Food Bank

Many of our staff compete in our annual food bank challenge where groups are pitted against each other to see who can bring in the most needed goods all in support of The Ottawa Food Bank. Winners are determined by weight of food.


HOPE beach volleyball

Every year a team of Teledyne Lumenera staffers participate in the H.O.P.E. Volleyball Summerfest charity tournament. H.O.P.E. supports various charities in the National Capital region. In its history, H.O.P.E. has provided over $5 million to more than 100 Ottawa charities.

H'Art of Ottawa

Teledyne Lumenera's headquarters feature paintings created by H'Art of Ottawa - a unique and innovative art and literacy program for adults with developmental disabilities that helps develop career and life skills, encourages self-expression and provides a sense of place. Funds raised through the sale of paintings go to the artists and help support the studio and program.


Lumenera's Winner for Movember

Thanks to all the Teledyne Lumenera Mo Bro's who participated in this year's Movember campaign, Lumenera was able to raise $5,415.00. A big thanks also goes to all of the Movember supporters. The funds raised support the number one male cancer, prostate cancer.
