Iowa State Professor Weighs Benefits vs. Risk of Facial Recognition Technology

Many states are using the technology to scan driver’s licenses to prevent identity fraud. It led to the arrest of a suspected arsonist in New York. And while facial recognition technology could not identify the Boston Marathon bombing suspects, police used the software in their search.

Lumenera's USB 3.0 Cameras Are Now Supported by NorPix’s StreamPix 5 Software

Lumenera's USB 3.0 Camera series is now supported by Norpix's flagship software, StreamPix 5

StreamPix 5 software is one of the most comprehensive and easy to use digital recording software available on the market. The software maximizes the high-speed, high-resolution features of Lumenera’s new USB 3.0 camera series, the Lt225 and Lt425. Both families of cameras were designed for high-speed video streaming and image capture by combining high-performance sensors from CMOSIS, with the latest USB 3.0 technology to ensure fast image delivery, even at their largest resolution.

The StreamPix5 software enables users to acquire uncompressed images and stream real-time digital video from Lumenera cameras direct to a PC memory or hard disk. Whether users are performing desktop imaging analysis, capturing high speed images, or streaming real-time video, the integration of StreamPix5 can support the speed and resolution capabilities of the Lt225 and Lt425.

StreamPix 5 is sold independently of Lumenera cameras, but offers the end camera user a simple “out-of-the-box” software solution to render high-speed, high-resolution images and videos.
