Le045 and Li045 High Dynamic Range Network Cameras
Lumenera’s Le045 and Li045 cameras are often selected for their versatility and 30 frames per second progressive scan image capture.
These cameras automatically adapt to uncontrolled and variable lighting situations regardless of the time of day or weather conditions. In indoor installations, backlit windows appear clear and transparent without the glare that occurs in standard cameras. Outdoors, the same camera will produce clear detailed images in both bright sunlit areas and dark shadows simultaneously. 
To achieve this performance, the '045 camera models incorporate an ultra-wide dynamic range image sensor that is specially designed to capture clear images with accurate color across a wide range of light levels. For outdoor installations, the '045 cameras also support DC auto-iris lenses, closing the iris in bright sun and opening it in darkness. Where ultimate low-light performance is the priority, day-night models such as the Le045C-DN include a switching optical filter mechanism that enables installation with semi-covert or fully covert active infrared nighttime illumination.

Avalarm is faced with the critical challenge of ensuring local schools, youth centers and sport facilities in Kurikka, Finland are monitored with high quality surveillance systems.
For this project Lumenera’s Le175 was chosen and implemented in 23 key locations throughout the town of Kurikka. The Le175 features programmable day/night settings that automatically switch to enhanced low-light mode for outstanding nighttime performance. This capability is needed in Kurikka, Finland as there are few hours of sunlight in the winter.
This installation has exceeded expectations as users are very impressed with the night performance and sensitivity of the Le175, as well as its outstanding image quality and ease-of-use.

Lumenera Provides Critical Perimeter Security through Clear Imaging
Lumenera’s high resolution, high-sensitivity network cameras are valuable tools for use in perimeter security.
Sites of this type include airports, military installations, and major industrial infrastructure such as petrochemical and power plants. The primary role of cameras in perimeter security is to provide personnel with accurate and rapid assessment of alarms generated by other intrusion detection systems.
These systems may include buried, fence-mounted, or microwave detection systems. The camera must provide high-quality images both in the day and at night and through extreme weather conditions. Where low light performance is the priority, the Li165 cameras are the ideal choice. Where adaptability to variable outdoor lighting conditions is the main concern, the Le045/Li045 wide dynamic range cameras are most often specified.

How to Ease the Transition From Analog to IP

Lumenera’s Li series network cameras are equipped with an analog video output that most often is used as an aid to the camera installer. We also see many clients use this feature to enable their transition from analog CCTV infrastructure to IP camera deployments. If you are planning to switch over a legacy installation from analog to IP cameras, consider the Li series as part of that process.
As described in this month’s product spotlight, the Le045 and Li045 cameras provide 30 fps image capture together with wide dynamic range that easily manages real-world lighting situations. To upgrade to megapixel resolution, consider the general-purpose Li175 or the high-sensitivity Li165. Both of these products can provide NTSC or PAL formatted analog video outputs to your analog video displays and DVR’s while you transition to new IP-based systems.
