PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT
COMING SOON: Lt1265R
Compact, High Resolution, Global Shutter CCD USB 3.0 Camera
Lumenera's Lt1265R extends the popular high-performance Sony EXview HAD II Lt camera series to 12 megapixels with a 1" optical format. Its high-speed USB 3.0 interface can deliver 4K2K resolution images (max: 4230 x 2832) at an industry-leading 15 fps. Backed by a 4-year warranty, the Lt1265R supports a global electronic shutter that captures high quality, high-speed images with virtually zero image blur. Its quad tap configuration allows for faster frame rates and it offers optically isolated inputs and outputs via GPIO.
The ICX834 sensor with Sony's EXview HAD CCD II pixel architecture provides impressive quantum efficiency and near infrared response (NIR) even though the pixels are only 3.1 um in size. This camera is ideal for applications where one needs high resolution with a small form factor, high quality, low noise images and reliable operation, such as: UAV & aerial imaging, high resolution surveillance, machine vision inspection, high resolution fluorescence imaging, whole slide imaging, and intelligent traffic solutions. It is available in color or monochrome.

Coming in 2016: Sony Pregius Global Shutter CMOS-based USB 3.0 Cameras
Lumenera will be expanding their USB 3.0 Lt Camera Family in 2016.
A series of new cameras based on Sony's latest Pregius Global Shutter CMOS technology will boast CCD-like performance from a CMOS sensor with increased frame rates, higher sensitivity, offering crisp, clear distortion-free images.
Building on this new line of technology, Lumenera will be releasing several camera models based on Sony's 2nd generation Pregius-based Global Shutter CMOS sensors such as the 5MP IMX250 and IMX264 sensors to produce a line of cameras ranging in resolution from 3MP to 12MP.
Due to the impressive specifications of this sensor family, Lumenera is committed to building cameras using both the high-speed and low-speed variants of the Sony Pregius 2nd generation family of sensors. FEATURED CASE STUDY
Lumenera's USB 3.0 Lt965R Cameras Selected as Imaging Solution in UAV System Designed to Monitor Vegetation
Two of Lumenera's Industrial-Grade Lt965R Cameras Replace Consumer-Level Point and Shoot Cameras in an Unmanned System Used to Monitor Vegetation Health from the Air.
Saving water, using less pesticide & fertiliser, and increasing yields are three key aspects that those in the agricultural industry strive for to produce healthier plants and reduce negative impacts on the environment.
The founders of AggieAir, members of the Utah State University's Water Research Laboratory, set out to do this in 2006 by implementing a remote sensor system to monitor soil moisture content. The director of the Lab, Dr. Mac McKee, wanted to accomplish this by utilizing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), but he stipulated that "the aircraft had to be inexpensive, they had to be easy to use, and processing of the imagery acquired from the aircraft had to be relatively simple." With this mission statement in mind, the team set out to build a cost effective, easy to use, UAV system to monitor vegetation health from the sky.

"Lumenera camera range - versatility for tolling, enforcement, parking"
Canada-headquartered Lumenera, which offers a wide range of cameras specifically designed for use in advanced transportation systems, will use Intertraffic Amsterdam to highlight its wide range, including two models from its LT range, the Lt29059 and the Lt1265R.
The Lt29059 is a 29MP digital camera with a high-resolution 35mm format CCD sensor and a fully global electronic shutter that captures excellent quality, high-speed images with zero blur. Its high quality Truesense KAI-29050 sensor provides high smear rejection (-100dB) and up to 64dB linear dynamic range.

"Capturing Accurate Color Through Demosaicing"
Capturing true and accurate color has always been one of the biggest challenges in digital imaging. Since monochrome sensors can only measure the intensity of light and are agnostic to its color, a method was devised to measure the intensity of a specific color of light over each pixel. This method involves placing small filters of alternating color over each pixel using a Bayer pattern.

"The Best of Both Worlds: Sony's New CMOS Sensors"
Sony has recently introduced their latest global shutter CMOS sensors that are capable of producing CCD-like performance.
Historically, CCD sensors have been known to be far superior to CMOS technology, boasting higher dynamic range, higher pixel density, and better color representation than their CMOS counterparts. CMOS imagers, however, are typically much less expensive to manufacture and require less power to operate.
Sony's latest Pregius global shutter CMOS sensors combine beneficial aspects of both CCD and CMOS in a pixel design resulting in impressive performance.
