LUMENERA CORPORATION ANNOUNCES NEW SIMPLIFIED NAMING CONVENTION FOR THEIR INFINITY LINE OF SCIENTIFIC DIGITAL CAMERAS

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada – July 1, 2005 – Lumenera Corporation, a leading developer and manufacturer of high performance digital cameras and imaging solutions, today announced the launch of a new naming convention for their INFINITY USB 2.0 digital cameras designed specifically for the scientific market. The new naming convention has been designed to facilitate the addition of new camera models and at the same time be a clear methodology for customers to determine which camera will best suit their requirements.

Lumenera’s INFINITY camera line is one of the most complete and popular product offerings available in the scientific market, currently consisting of four main product series: INFINITY1, INFINITY2, INFINITY3 and INFINITYX. Within these product series there are several models available, with a variety of options to address a wide range of microscopy imaging applications where a combination of speed, resolution and sensitivity are routinely required.

The INFINITY1 series of CMOS-based cameras are a cost effective and versatile solution for documentation and archiving applications. The INFINITY1 series is currently offered in 1, 3 and 6 megapixel versions.

The INFINITY2 series, based on high quality Sony CCD sensors, is ideal for more demanding scientific, medical and life science applications where improved sensitivity and dynamic range are routinely required. The INFINITY2 series is currently offered in 1, 2 and 3 megapixel versions.

The INFINITY3 series is a new cooled CCD camera line providing both high sensitivity and dynamic range. With a 12-bit data depth, the camera is ideal for quantitative analysis. The INFINITY3-1 is offered in a 1 megapixel version.

The INFINITYX series, a CMOS based camera with sub pixel-shifting technology, is an essential tool for clinical and life science applications where high resolution image archiving and publication quality images are critical. The INFINITYX provides variable resolution capture of 1, 5, 10 and 21 megapixels.

All INFINITY cameras are supported by the INFINITY Capture software application. This intuitive user interface provides advanced features such as: auto/manual white balance, full exposure control and ROI, as well as TWAIN driver. A high-speed USB 2.0 interface provides ease of installation on both laptop and desktop computers.
