LUMENERA CORPORATION INTRODUCES HIGH PERFORMANCE - 12 BIT MICROSCOPY CAMERA

 

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada - Dec 2, 2004-Lumenera Corporation, a leading developer and manufacturer of high performance digital cameras and imaging solutions, today announced the latest release of its Infinity 5 camera aimed at the scientific market. The Infinity 5 camera is a high-quality microscopy camera ideal for high-end scientific, pharmaceutical and life science applications. Cooled models are ideal in low-light conditions and where high dynamic range is required. Typical applications for this camera will include fluorescent microscopy green fluorescent protein applications, fluorescent in situ hybridization, DNA analysis and live cell imaging.

The Infinity 5 is based on Sony's popular 2/3" ICX285, 1.4 megapixel color or monochrome CCD sensor providing output of 15 fps at full (1392x1048) resolution. The Infinity 5 provides global shutter with excellent sensitivity with 8 or 12 bit depth digital output. Uncompressed images in live streaming video and still-image capture are provided across a USB 2.0 digital interface, making this an ideal camera for installation on both laptop and desktop computers. No frame-grabber is required. This camera is supported by a microscopy-user software application with auto/manual white balance, full exposure control and ROI, as well as TWAIN interface. Advanced camera control is available through a complete Software Developer's Kit, with sample code available to quickly integrate camera functions into OEM applications.
