Ottawa, Ontario, Canada -December 1, 2004-Lumenera Corporation, a leading developer and manufacturer of high performance digital cameras and imaging solutions, today announced the release of a new USB 2.0 digital camera aimed specifically at the scientific market. The Infinity 4 camera model is a high-quality colour microscopy camera where higher resolution archiving and publication is routinely required.
With 3.3 megapixel resolution and on-board processing, the Infinity 4 delivers outstanding image quality for a wide variety of scientific applications including brightfield darkfield and fluorescent applications employed by clinicians, life science researchers, industrial inspection and failure analysis and forensic investigators.
The Infinity 4 uses a Sony ICX262, 3.3 megapixel, colour CCD image sensor providing output of 5 fps at full (2088x1550) resolution. Sub-sample provides live frame rates for alignment and focusing. The Infinity 4 provides multi-megapixel resolution with 8 and 10-bit digital output. This camera is supported by a microscopy-user software application that provides real time viewing, auto/manual white balance, full exposure control and ROI, as well as TWAIN interface. The high-speed USB 2.0 interface eliminates the framegrabber and provides ease of installation on both laptop and desktop computers.
