The Infinity X digital camera from Lumenera Scientific Corp. is a microscopy tool for clinical and life sciences applications that require high-resolution images. Subpixel shifting provides image capture at 1.3-, 5-, 10- and 21-megapixel resolution. Based on 1280 X 1024, 1/2-in., color or monochrome CMOS sensor technology, it offers low noise, full-color subwindowing for rapid focus and sample scanning, and 8- and 10-bit data modes. Each pixel captures 30 bits of RGB information, resulting in 1024 intensity values per color. The camera includes a TWAIN interface, connects to a PC via a USB 2.0 port, and is compatible with Windows 98, SE, 2000, ME and XP systems.
