Engineered with a high resolution 1/3” CMOS sensor, this camera was devised to provide streaming video output over an HDMI connector, uniquely running autonomously without the need for a computer.

The INFINITYHD provides excellent color reproduction, making it ideally suited for color-sensitive microscopy applications including brightfield, clinical and industrial microscopy. This camera provides true 1080p60 streaming video with full color output. This camera is equipped with a built in auto-intensity compensation that automatically adjusts the video stream as the microscope objective or the light intensity changes. Real-time live video preview enables accurate focus and specimen placement allowing for quicker slide reviews.

A USB 2.0 port connects to a computer or laptop in order to optimize auto white balance and quickly capture images from the camera. The USB 2.0 digital interface ensures a simple plug-and-play installation, and is combined with a proven, stable set of USB camera drivers to provide reliability and long-term operation with no down time.

Microscopy camera offers 14-bit data output and low dark current noise

Neuroscience 2011, Washington, DC - November 14, 2011– Lumenera Corporation, www.lumenera.com, a leading manufacturer and developer of high performance digital cameras and custom imaging solutions for scientific, industrial and surveillance markets, today introduced the newly redesigned INFINITY2-1R USB 2.0 microscopy camera, engineered for documentation and image analysis in life science, clinical and material science applications where higher resolution and excellent sensitivity are routinely required.

The re-engineered INFINITY2-1R offers a significant performance increase for quantitative and low-light applications over its predecessor. Reduced operating temperatures combined with a much higher dynamic range and 14-bit data output have resulted in a versatile entry-level research camera. The INFINITY2-1R easily manages seconds of exposure time with a dark current rating of less than 1 e-/s.

For lower light applications the Sony HAD ICX205 CCD sensor has a high dynamic range of 64 dB, allowing users to image unevenly lit samples without worry, resulting in excellent camera sensitivity. The resulting images show detail in bright and dark areas not normally seen in lower dynamic range cameras. Advanced thermal management allows for long exposure times of several minutes without the need for a higher priced cooled camera.

Sharing and installation of one or more cameras on a single computer is quick and simple through a high-speed USB 2.0 interface.

INFINITY cameras are integrated into a variety of third-party software packages through direct drivers or with TWAIN/DirectX support. A Mac camera driver and ImageJ plug-in are available for the INFINITY2-1R.

The INFINITY2-5 is engineered for qualitative image archiving in life science, clinical and material science applications where higher resolution and excellent sensitivity are of the utmost importance.

The INFINITY2-5 was designed in response to the demand for a higher resolution CCD-based camera. This 5.0 megapixel camera employs the Sony Super HAD ICX655 high quality 2/3” sensor featuring 3.45 micron square pixels. An 8-bit output is available for capturing fast video of live events, or 14-bit for quantifying data. The high speed output combined with a high dynamic range has resulted in a versatile entry-level research camera. Lumenera Corporation expands software offering to include MetaMorph Microscopy Automation & Image Analysis Software

Improvements include new standalone INFINITY CAPTURE application

While still maintaining support for ImageJ the new Mac camera software also provides a standalone INFINITY CAPTURE application for Lumenera’s scientific USB 2.0 camera line, allowing Mac users to easily capture an image. Both the color and monochrome versions of the INFINITY1 line, INFINITY2-1, INFINITY2-2, INFINITY3 line and INFINITY4-11 are supported by the initial release.
