PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT

lumenera's lg11059

High Resolution 11 Megapixel GigE Camera

Lumenera’s progressive scan Lg11059 digital camera is built for rugged 24/7 use. A high resolution CCD sensor, fully global electronic shutter capturing high-speed images with zero blur, and a completely integrated Canon EF lens controller (void of external cabling) position this camera as an ideal solution for traffic monitoring, as well as flat panel inspection.

This camera utilizes its high quality CCD sensor to its maximum by providing either vivid color or very sensitive visible light and near IR monochromatic images. Full streaming of uncompressed video along with still image captures are easily controlled through our standard API interface or through the GigE Vision interface. Region of interest and binning modes allow the camera to run at faster frame rates (14 fps at 640 x 480 resolution) while only providing the image data you need. Image capture synchronization is achieved using either a hardware or software trigger and is complemented by 32 MB of on board memory for frame buffering to ensure image delivery. GigE Logo

Certified GigE Vision Compliant

The Lg11059 is a GigE Vision compliant, and will interoperate with other off-the-shelf compliant software products regardless of the specific manufacturer. This allows for fast transfer of data using low cost standard cables over very long distances.

Lumenera Featured in Leading Publication INTERTRAFFIC WORLD

Lumenera was recently featured in an Intertraffic World article that discusses how industrial cameras offer enhanced imaging performance and specialized features to help rise to the unique set of challenges found within the transportation industry. Below is a preview of the article:

Industrial cameras have become a proven solution to the challenging set of requirements for vision systems and automated imaging. In turn, machine vision vendors offer a wide range of cameras specifically designed for advanced transportation systems. Industrial cameras offer enhanced imaging performance, and a robust, compact enclosure suitable for the demanding environments found within the transportation industry.

These cameras rely on specialized image sensors to deliver higher dynamic range, onboard memory buffering, better sensitivity and also to capture excellent quality, high-speed images with zero blur – solving the motion artefact limitation found with traditional camera sensors. All of these camera features combined with a choice of Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 data interfaces are ideal for traffic and transportation applications. Some applications might be so unique that no off-the-shelf cameras can fully satisfy the application requirements. In such cases, a custom-designed camera might be the better choice. Many of us as drivers are unaware of the benefits that are obtained through the integration of imaging technology into ITS systems. These systems are working hard in the background, delivering invaluable information to us (such as accidents ahead or travel delays), quickly resolving any traffic disturbances as they arise, and most importantly, improving our safety....

WEBINAR

Lumenera co-hostS Webinar on 3D IMAGING

Multi-Camera Systems – an Easy Alternative for 3D Imaging

Lumenera recently co-hosted a webinar with Pleora and MVTec that explores the imaging technology surrounding 3D vision, including 3D image processing, engineering multi-camera systems, and standardisation for 3D vision. Lumenera's portion of the presentation covered Multi-Camera Systems - an Easy Altenrative for 3D Imaging.

Description: Learn how a multi-camera system allows you to build your own 3D imaging solution using the image resolution and sensor of your choice. Each manufacturing application typically faces its own unique challenges.

Multi-camera solutions allow you to build the solution that is right for you using either off-the-shelf or customized solutions without being bound to a pre-defined product.

Presented by:
• Eric Ramsden, Lumenera Corporation
• Geoff Roddick, Pleora Technologies
• Johannes Hiltner, MVTec

America Back to Work
Since its low point in 2010, the manufacturing sector has created 500,000 new jobs. There are a number of factors contributing to this revival in North America. Foreign products have become less price competitive due to increasing wages in overseas labor and transportation costs. The need for tighter supply chain management, faster turnaround and time to market, as well as the ability to rapidly customize products all point in favour of sticking with a local manufacturing company instead of outsourcing overseas. Last, but not least, another contributing factor that I want to explore in further detail with you is increased manufacturing efficiency through the deployment of advanced machine vision and robotics.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Lumenera Raises Money for Prostate Cancer Through Fourth Annual Movember Campaign

Lumenera staffers participated in various fundraising efforts in support of Movember where the 'Mo', slang for moustache, and 'November' come together each year. Movember challenges men to change their appearance and the face of men’s health by growing a moustache to bring attention to the cause. The team raised $2,655! All proceeds raised from this challenge go towards prostate cancer research and men's health issues.
