Full High Definition Camera AVAILABLE in Q1 2012

The new INFINITYHD microscopy camera offers a 2 megapixel high resolution 1/3” CMOS sensor. This unique cutting edge camera allows you to stream video output to an HDMI monitor, uniquely running the camera autonomously without the need for a computer.

Lumenera’s INFINITYHD provides excellent color reproduction, making it ideally suited for color-sensitive microscopy applications including brightfield, clinical and industrial microscopy. This camera provides full HD 1080p60 streaming video with full color output.

The camera is equipped with a built in auto-intensity compensation that automatically adjusts the video stream as the microscope objective or the light intensity changes. Real-time live video preview enables accurate focus and specimen placement allowing for quicker slide reviews. Three on-camera buttons for power, white balance and capture, combined with a USB 2.0 port allow you to quickly capture images to a computer or laptop.

New Research-grade Microscopy Camera for Low Light Applications

The INFINITY2-1 was recently redesigned for improved performance in documentation and image analysis in life science, clinical and material science applications where high resolution and excellent sensitivity are required.

The new INFINITY2-1R offers exceptional performance for quantitative and low-light applications. A low operating temperature combined with high dynamic range and 14-bit data output have resulted in a versatile entry-level research camera. The INFINITY2-1R easily manages seconds of exposure time with a dark current rating of less than 1 e-/s. Advanced thermal management allows for long exposure times of several minutes without the need for a higher priced cooled camera.

The INFINITY2-1R comes with INFINITY CAPTURE, an intuitive image capture program, and INFINITY ANALYZE, a full image analysis package offering; camera control; measurement; annotation; tiling and post capture enhancement.

5 Megapixel CCD Scientific Camera Offers Exceptional Sensitivity

The INFINITY2-5 is specially engineered for qualitative image archiving in life science, clinical and material science applications where high resolution and excellent sensitivity are critical.

The 5 megapixel camera employs the Sony Super HAD ICX655 high quality 2/3” sensor featuring 3.45 micron square pixels. An 8-bit output is available for capturing fast video of live events, or a 14-bit option is ideal for quantifying data. The high-speed output combined with a high dynamic range has resulted in a versatile entry-level research camera.

Additional product highlights include: superb color reproduction in clinical-stained samples for outstanding image quality; full color sub-windowing for rapid focus and scanning of samples; 8.5 fps at full 2448 x 2048 resolution (up to 23 fps at 640 x 480 with ROI); and a progressive scan global electronic shutter for smooth previews and quick response times. The INFINITY2-5 is now available in either color or monochrome, and includes both Lumenera’s INFINITY ANALYZE and CAPTURE software.

Young Scientist delivers clear results with Lumenera INFINITY Camera

Lumenera is pleased to offer its support to Canada’s next generation of life science researchers by providing a high-end digital scientific imaging solution to 13-year old, multiple gold medal winner Mikaela Preston. Mikaela’s award winning project involved research into enhancing Biofuel production through the mixture of multiple algae strains and she contacted Lumenera to help with her ambitious project.

Lumenera was happy to provide an INFINITY2-2 microscopy camera to Mikaela’s cause. The INFINITY2-2 produced crystal clear, vibrant images for her algae research. She was easily able to set up the camera and capture images of her samples with Lumenera’s INFINITY CAPTURE and ANALYZE software packages.

Lumenera recently exhibited at the 2011 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology on October 22 -25, 2011. Held in Orlando, FL., we showcased our custom and OEM USB 2.0 imaging solutions that are specifically design to meet your unique application and budgetary requirements.

Lumenera recently exhibited at the Society for Neuroscience & AMERICAn SOCIETY FOR cell biology ANNUAL MEETINGS

Neuroscience 2011 was held from November 12-16 in Washington, DC at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The annual meeting provides the world's largest forum for neuroscientists to debut research and network with colleagues from around the world.

Cell Biology took place in December in Denver, CO. This international cell biology meeting allows scientists and students in academia, industry, government, and higher education to learn about the latest research and network with peers.

INFINITY ANALYZE 6.0 Now Available

The recently released INFINITY ANALYZE 6.0 is now available for download here.

New added features include:

Cell Counting function- Automated cell counting based on user-controlled threshold. Results include total area for calibrated image capture.
Dynamic zoom slider for live preview and captured images- Allows user to choose a digital zoom level before and after capturing images.
Micrometer bar settings associated with calibration presets- The micrometer length and display text are now tied to a calibration preset.
Generate bitmap overlays from annotation objects- Automatically extract the annotation layer into a blank bitmap image to be saved and used as a bitmap overlay.
Interactive toolbar and auxiliary window controls available on a new tab with the Help ->Settings dialog- Provides the ability to see the immediate results of enabling or disabling individual user interface options from a static dialog.

Lumenera is integrated with MetaMorph Microscopy Automation AND Image Analysis Software

Lumenera’s INFINITY2-1R, 2-2, 3-1 and 3-1U cameras are supported by the MetaMorph software package offering users access to a variety of software modules that provide image acquisition, analysis, and processing. The MetaMorph software package is essential for research in cellular and biochemical applications, and when combined with an INFINITY camera it is an ideal solution for biological imaging and research.

Advanced features of the MetaMorph software that can now be used in conjunction with the INFINITY camera line are morphology filters, interactive 4D viewer, background subtraction and shading correction. The integration of Lumenera’s INFINITY cameras allow the customer to also take advantage of new image analysis tools ranging from intensity logging to advanced analyses, colocalization, FRET and 3D measurements.

Customer Satisfaction Survey

We are listening to you.
Lumenera completed its second Customer Satisfaction Survey. The overall feedback was very positive with an 85% overall satisfaction level on the services provided by the Technical Assistance Centre (TAC). While we are extremely pleased with these results, we continually strive to provide exceptional customer service and will be making a few improvements in 2012.

You gave us great scores on the team’s professionalism, knowledge levels, helpfulness, comprehension and level of detail provided to resolve cases. We want to improve our regular timely updates for longer and more complicated cases. We’ve been asked to broadcast any new software downloads and tools put in place to assist customers. We scored well on the Knowledge Base/FAQ section of our website which we work to keep up-to-date with our latest technical camera information.

We are still digesting the helpful information provided by those who completed the survey. In response to some suggestions, Lumenera launched its first TAC UPDATE email that was sent out to customers in November. This update email notified our customers that a new version of INFINITY ANALYZE software was available on the Download Centre of our website. In addition, we announced two new Video Tutorials for ANALYZE software. In future look out for these helpful and informative TAC UPDATE emails.

We thank everyone who provided their valuable feedback and suggestions. The Lumenera TAC team will use this information throughout 2012 to continue to improve our customer service.

New TAC UPDATE Communication launched in November 2011

In response to feedback acquired through Lumenera’s second customer survey, the TAC team will be providing timely updates regarding software modifications, as well as, new tutorials and tools being introduced. This will come in the form of a TAC UPDATE e-mail.

The first TAC UPDATE was sent out to our scientific partners and addressed the release of Lumenera’s INFINITY ANALYZE 6.0.0 scientific software. TAC will be using the TAC UPDATE email communication to inform partners of software releases and timely information regarding training tools, Knowledge Base updates, etc.

Towel Drive- Staff members at Lumenera gathered 106 towels for shelters in Ottawa, ON. This fundraiser is in line with Lumenera's 'green' values and also exemplifies the community spirit our staff possesses.

 

Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup- Lumenera participated in a river cleanup event in September, 2011 to help remove litter along the Rideau River in Ottawa, ON. In total Lumenera staffers collected just over 40 kg of food packages, beverage containers, fishing line, plastic bags, construction waste and cigarette butts!

Lumenera would like to thank its wonderful staff members who continually go above and beyond for the community and environment.
