ANNOUNCEMENT

Coming Soon: Le165 Camera for Capturing Crisp Images of Quick Moving Objects in All Light Conditions

The Le165 features a high quality 1.4 megapixel progressive scan HAD CCD sensor and is available in both color (Le165CE), monochrome Le165ME), and day-night (-DN) variants. This camera model has been specifically designed for surveillance of sites with low-light conditions and outdoor sun-shadow situations where high dynamic range is required. Stop-motion image capture capabilities provide crisp images of moving objects thanks to the strong capabilities including high light sensitivity, fast exposures, and low image smear.

Both JPEG and H.264 compression are offered by the Le165 allowing the user to take control of bandwidth and storage. The camera supports a consistent Application Programming Interface (API) to support off-the-shelf video management software or custom applications.

For more information on the new Le165 cameras please contact securitysales@lumenera.com.

Lumenera Releases New High-End Dome Camera

The Le138 dome camera provides superior 720p30 HD image detail, providing 3x more pixels on target than a standard definition camera. This increase in detail is achieved without making compromises in the frame rate. Crisp “live” 30 fps images are transmitted and displayed with low latency.

The Le138CF-DN delivers megapixel “HD” image clarity even in lowlight conditions using a 1/3” CCD image sensor, auto iris lens, and a filter mechanism designed for deployment with active infrared illuminators. Also featuring adaptive wide dynamic range image capture technology that provides for clear images in mixed sun and shadow.

The Le138CF-DN comes with a complete installation kit and installs quickly and easily on a wall or ceiling. A single network cable is all that is required to complete the installation.

For more information on the new Le138CF-DN please contact Lumenera's security team at securitysales@lumenera.com.

Case Study

Lumenera Provides Facial Recognition Imaging in Gaming Facilities

Lumenera has deployed several surveillance cameras into casinos across North America. These cameras have been greatly beneficial in facial recognition technology due to advanced features such as high dynamic range, low light sensitivity, and easy installation and set-up.

Facial recognition is largely used for individuals who have subscribed to a Self-Exclusion Program for problem gambling. This program is in place to forbid members of the program from entering a gaming facility once they have voluntarily subscribed to the exclusion. It is the responsibility of the casino to prevent the Self-Exclusion Program members from entering.

To provide complete security and ensure the safety of guests, a camera capable of rendering a clear and precise image in low light is required for surveillance and facial recognition activities. Lumenera provides the Le165 camera, featuring 1376x1032 resolution at 15 fps, in many gaming facilities with difficult conditions. Lumenera cameras capitalize on “in-camera” settings to adapt to the varying light levels and unfavorable imaging environments.

“Right Now” Shock: Get Over the Technology Fear Factor

Most industry insiders are familiar with the confusion in the minds of buyers and decision makers regarding newer surveillance technologies. While standards for broadcast television and CCTV evolved slowly, things in the world of computers and IT move at a much faster pace. The computer literacy of a large segment of the security installer community lags behind some other more high-tech industries; meanwhile, the innovation train keeps on rolling. In the information age, the standards and methods for capturing, transmitting, viewing and recording actionable surveillance video are forever in a state of flux.
