Announcement

Lumenera introduces New Stand-Alone SDK for simple development and camera migration

Lumenera introduces the Lumenera Camera Software Development Kit (SDK) - one SDK that works with all of our Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) and USB-based products. A common interface that is quick-to-learn allows you to develop an application for one camera and then easily migrate it to other camera models as needed. The same interface is used for Windows-based imaging and works in either 32 or 64-bit environments.

This new SDK will provide complete control over every aspect of your Lumenera camera. It is a separate offering from Lumenera's LuCam Software.

Offering the ability to stream raw, compressed or filtered image data, the Lumenera Camera SDK can control how and where to send video or snapshot image streams. You can stream to a window created by the API or one under your control, and/or stream directly to an AVI file. The API also provides the ability to add your own callback functions to the image data streams for inline processing and can signal event structures to notify you of changes in I/O activity or camera disconnection.

Lumenera Camera Software Development Kit (SDK) will be available in January 2011. For more information on the benefits of Lumenera's new SDK please contact [email protected].

Application Focus

2D and 3D Barcode Printing and Reading

Lumenera's Lu170M and Lw230M have been actively printing and reading barcode labels for major industries including postal services, food distribution hubs and parcel delivery companies.

Printing 2D and 3D Barcode Labels
Lumenera’s high performance industrial digital cameras are used by industry leaders in the production and verification of complex 2D and 3D barcode labels. 2D and 3D systems use symbols rather than bars or parallel lines seen in traditional 1D barcodes.

Deciphering the Finest Details when Reading High Resolution Barcodes
Lumenera plays a large part in the reading of barcodes at the other end of the spectrum, by working with the foremost label reading systems.

Again, Lumenera’s Lu170M and Lw230M are embedded in high-speed barcode readers. Lumenera offers custom cabling options installed and tested to customer specifications making barcode readers accessible and easy-to-use.

Lumenera’s Imaging Technology is Chosen for High Quality and Dependability
Lumenera’s imaging technologies provide the high quality and dependability required across a wide variety of industry applications. By offering flexible and easy-to-use solutions, Lumenera is able to work on both sides of the barcode system - playing a part in both manufacturing and end use.

Lumenera Presents

Lumenera's Senior Imaging Engineer Nick Bulitka Presented at the Eighteenth Color and Imaging Conference in San Antonio, Texas

Nick Bulitka, Senior Imaging Engineer, presented "Image Sensors: An Under the Hood Look at How They Work" at the Color and Imaging Conference for Color Science and Engineering Systems, Technologies, and Applications.

In this course, Mr. Bulitka explained how photons are transformed into signal electrons and an output voltage in image sensors, to an audience of engineers and scientists who wanted to gain a better understanding of how image sensors work.

Participants learned what makes CCD image sensors tick, the basic building blocks that make up an image sensor, and the impact of image sensors on color performance.

If you would like to learn more about the information presented in this course please email us at [email protected].

EVENTS

Lumenera Exhibited and Presented at Vision 2010 in Stuttgart Germany

Lumenera recently exhibited at the 23rd International Trade Fair for Machine Vision from November 9th-11th in Stuttgart Germany.

Booth highlights included the Lg235 Gigabit camera, Lw16059 16 megapixel camera and Lumenera’s OEM/custom technologies:

Lg235 Gigabit Ethernet Camera
Aa compact high megapixel digital camera offering outstanding image quality and value. Key features include: 25 fps at full 1616 x 1216 resolution, locking Hirose HR10A-10R-12PB GPI/O connector, locking power connector and on-board processing. An electronic global shutter provides capabilities similar to a mechanical shutter, allowing simultaneous integration of the entire pixel array. This is ideal for capturing objects in high-speed motion or synchronizing with strobe lighting.

Lw16059 USB 2.0 Camera
4872 x 3248 resolution, large dynamic range with up to 65dB, and a selectable 8 or 12-bit output. This camera series is ideal for challenging applications in which large fields of view, short exposure times, and high contrast capabilities are required.
