Lumenera Helps in Printing and Reading Barcode Labels

Lumenera’s high performance industrial digital cameras are used by industry leaders in the production and verification of complex 2D and 3D barcode labels. Lumenera's Lu170M (1.3 megapixel CMOS monochrome) and Lw230M (2.0 megapixel CCD based monochrome) industrial digital cameras help decipher the finest details found in today’s high resolution barcode labels. These labels are used in a variety of industries including manufacturing, automotive, retail, grocery, healthcare, and pharmaceutical. Lumenera is proud to assist these industries by providing easy to use USB 2.0 imaging solutions and a Software Development Kit (LuSDK) that can be customized to fit any application.

Lumenera also plays a large part in the reading of barcodes at the other end of the spectrum, by working with the foremost label reading systems. Again, Lumenera’s Lu170M and Lw230M are embedded in high-speed barcode readers. Lumenera offers custom cabling options installed and tested to customer specifications making barcode readers accessible and easy to use. Widely deployed across Canada and the US, commercial barcode readers are typically used at the warehouse level by postal services, food distribution hubs, and parcel delivery companies.

Lumenera's imaging technologies provide the high quality and dependability required across a wide variety of industry applications. By offering flexible and easy-to-use solutions, Lumenera is able to work on both sides of the barcode system - playing a part in both manufacturing and end use.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The following are common questions recieved by Lumenera's Technical Assistance Center:

Q. Can the start of the Lm165-IO's exposure be controlled by the hardware trigger line?

A. Yes, but the active high pulse must have a minimum width of 0.5 µs. There is no maximum limit to the trigger pulse width.

Q. What is the approximate sensitivity of the Lu070M?

A. The sensitivity is a function of light wavelength and varies with the lighting wavelength you use. The Lu070M camera uses a CCD sensor that generally offers a higher sensitivity than a CMOS sensor.

Join Greg as he discusses 'Key Challenges for Growing Industrial Imaging Companies'

Friday, 15 May 2009, 11:20-12:00
How do small and mid-sized companies compete in international markets with large multi-national competitors already firmly in place? Where to begin with market expansion with a modest budget and changing business conditions? When does a global supply chain make sense? Does merger or acquisition make sense?

Examine strategies for penetrating new markets from a sales/marketing perspective to maximize revenue growth. Pros and cons of low-cost-producing countries in leveraging manufacturing efficiencies. These and other challenges addressed to small and mid sized industrial product companies.

CORPORATE NEWS

Lumenera Continually Meets and Exceeds Delivery Expectations

Lumenera is proud to offer and deliver products that consistently meet and exceed our customers' standards and expectations. Many consumers of Lumenera’s high performance digital cameras test each shipment and rate our performance based on delivery time and quality. Organizations differ in how they rate their suppliers and which measurement criteria they use. Examples of the standards applied to Lumenera include reaching a 99.5% consistency to become a preferred supplier, or providing six consecutive shipments of hundreds of cameras with zero quality issues. It is common practice for equipment manufacturers to rate thier suppliers and order only from those who perform well. We are proud to have passed all criteria applied to us with flying colors to become preferred suppliers.

Being able to continually meet the rigorous supplier standards Lumenera is subjected to results in time and cost savings to our customers. By delivering on the promises we make about our products, in the timeframe we have given, ensures there is no disruption to our customers’ manufacturing process. Zero quality issues eliminate downtime on the assembly floor and the administrative costs associated with returns, paperwork, shipping/receiving, and finance documentation tracking.

This success displays our commitment to providing an exceptional level of service. We will continually review our performance to be sure we are exceeding customer expectations in providing high quality and innovative products.
