NEW INFINITY4-11 MICROSCOPE COUPLER
Lumenera recently introduced the INFINITY4-11 microscope camera. Matching the field of view of a traditional 35mm camera, the INFINITY4-11’s sensor has a 43.3mm diagonal with 11 megapixel resolution. Boasting superior color reproduction, this camera is ideal for high-end scientific, industrial, medical, ophthalmic and life science applications.
The addition of the INFINITY4-11 to the INFINITY family of cameras posed a new challenge; to provide a readily available cost-effective large format coupler designed to deliver the necessary magnification to cover the larger chip diagonals of the INFINITY4-11. To address this issue, and in our continued commitment to fully supporting customer application requirements, Lumenera teamed with a leading-edge technology partner with expertise in optomechanical design to provide a cost-effective custom microscope coupler for the INFINITY4-11.
The Lu9019-XX Large Format Custom Coupler is uniquely designed to take full advantage of the INFINITY4-11’s high resolution across the full field on view of this large format sensor. This new coupler offers complete mounting, and is fully compatible with the major microscope brands and models. Part numbers for the various brands and models are available directly from Lumenera or through our network of dealers and distributors.
We highly recommend using the INFINITY4-11 with this purpose-built coupler in order to ensure the best camera’s performance.
ADJUSTABLE BACK FOCUS C-MOUNT FOR INFINITY CAMERAS
Lumenera’s INFINITY family of cameras will now include an adjustable back focus c-mount, allowing users to improve parfocality with a microscope trinocular port. Customers can also take advantage of this new feature when using a zoom lens with an INFINITY focus setting or other custom optics.
No tools are required when making use of the new back focus adjustment. Simply loosen the c-mount locking ring, rotate the inner black c-mount ring until the sample is in sharp focus, then re-tighten the locking ring.
Please contact Lumenera or your local INFINITY camera dealer for more information.
INTERNATIONAL POWER SUPPLIES
Lumenera is now offering a new series of wall mount universal switching power supplies for the Lu, Lw, Le and INFINITY camera lines.
Universal Interchangeable Plug Included With Each Power Supply
The new universal power supplies will ship with
4 interchangeable plugs, providing a high level of flexibility. The plugs will accommodate North American, European, United Kingdom and Asian power standards.
Safety and Compliance
The new international power supplies meet the highest safety standards including UL/CUL, PSE, GS, CE, FCC and SAA, as well as RoHS Compliance.
PURPOSE-BUILT MICROSCOPY CAMERAS VS. POINT-AND-SHOOT CONSUMER CAMERAS
Microscopy professionals continue to explore the similarities and differences between consumer and purpose-built digital cameras. Common camera features, capabilities and challenges, reduced prices, and increasing resolution can make selecting a camera confusing. Here are some key points to consider when selecting a new digital camera for your microscope:
Live Steaming Video:
Dedicated microscopy cameras are connected to a computer through a high-speed interface such as USB 2.0. This allows users to view a full screen video preview on a monitor with frame rates ranging from 15 fps at full resolution to 120 fps through binning and ROI. Images can be quickly white balanced, focused and captured without the difficulties presented by small view screens on point-and-shoot cameras.
Professional microscope cameras are available with advanced software packages specifically designed for microscopy applications, whereas the software included with point-and-shoot cameras does not. Professional microscopy software includes such features as measurement and annotation, advanced image processing, image stitching, manual white balance, depth of focus and fluorescent composite imaging. Lumenera’s INFINITY ANALYZE imaging software provides over 30 custom tools developed specifically for microscopy. This software, with a value of over $1000, is included with all INFINITY professional cameras.
Pre and Post-Sale Technical Support:
Technical support is included with all professional microscopy cameras, including camera selection and installation, coupler choice and complete application support. Microscope representatives ensure optimal performance by providing full customer service when installing digital microscope cameras and couplers, working closely with all parties to ensure a complete imaging solution is correctly installed and properly maintained.
