Uncompromised image quality and camera performance a strict requirement

Ottawa, ON – September 22, 2008- Lumenera Corporation, a leading developer and manufacturer of high performance digital cameras and custom imaging solutions, together with Searidge Technologies, a provider of mission critical technology solutions and services in support of Air Traffic Control and Airport Operation markets, today announced a partnership to provide specialized cameras for Searidge’s suite of airport surface movement control solutions.

Searidge Technologies selected Lumenera’s proven Le165 network camera as the imaging technology of choice for its IntelliDAR™ system. The system requires a camera with extreme low-light capabilities and outstanding image quality to capture video data under vast lighting conditions. This megapixel CCD camera provides outstanding clarity and image detail, enhancing the performance of IntelliDAR video analytic functionalities.

Searidge Technologies was recently contracted by Abu Dhabi Airport Company to supply the IntelliDAR system using Lumenera’s Le165 network cameras, to provide surface surveillance capabilities enabling air traffic controllers to have full situational and visual awareness of the airport’s newly constructed runway. This non-cooperative surveillance system detects and monitors traffic movements on the airport surface providing radar-like target information.

Power Over Ethernet offered as part of standard offering

Ottawa, ON – September 22, 2008 - Lumenera Corporation, a leading developer and manufacturer of high performance digital cameras and custom imaging solutions is now shipping Le series network cameras with Power over Ethernet (PoE) as a standard configuration.

Lumenera’s offering is fully compliant with the IEEE 802.3af specifications for either power mode A or B, making it compatible with a wide array of commercial off-the-shelf network switches and power injectors. PoE will enable users to run power to their device via a 10/100base T Ethernet cable, significantly lowering installation costs and services with reduced cable runs. This newest functionality will not affect camera cost or performance.

The external power supply requirement for Le series cameras will change to 12VDC. Li series intelligent cameras will continue to support PoE or 24VDC external power. (Le259, Le11059 and their variants are excluded).

Cost-effective solutions feature excellent sensitivity and embedded analytics

Las Vegas, NV – ISC West 2008 – April 2, 2008 — Lumenera Corporation, a leading developer and manufacturer of high performance digital cameras and custom imaging solutions, today announced the release of two new intelligent camera models which respond to security threats in real-time. The Li165 and Li175 provide unique, tangible results by preventing intrusions, attacks and vandalism while in progress.

The Li165 is specifically designed for critical surveillance applications with low-light conditions and/or fast motion, such as transportation and military, where the ultimate in megapixel image quality is required. Streaming full 1376 x 1032 megapixel resolution at up to 15 frames per second, the Li165 transmits high quality MJPEG or H.264 images across a standard 10/100BaseT network interface. The Li165 combines excellent sensitivity and extremely low noise levels for superior performance in poor lighting conditions. The high-end global shutter CCD is ideally suited for capturing images of rapidly moving vehicles.

The Li175 combines 1.3 megapixel image quality with video analytics to help automate surveillance in any environment. A CMOS sensor provides images at up to 21 frames per second. This camera has powerful peak white inversion and anti-blooming features for dealing with intense glare from reflected sunlight or headlamps on vehicles.

Features such as Power Over Ethernet (PoE), analog loop-out, advanced dc-iris control, and improved software interface are standard. Cameras are future proofed with on-going software developments and analytic enhancements that are remotely upgradable via the IP Network. Integration with NVRs/DVRs is simplified with OVReady - a standardized, open-platform XML interface. Optional true day/night variants are available, with a field-proven filter mechanism to provide outstanding nigh time performance when paired with infrared lighting. Lumenera can also provide a selection of weatherproof enclosures.

Through Lumenera’s partnership with ObjectVideo (OV), OV OnBoardTM is fully embedded into a powerful DSP within the camera. Embedded analytics push intelligence to the edge of the network for optimal system efficiency, especially for large network installations with hundreds of cameras. Users have three levels of ObjectVideo licenses to choose from, depending on the level of monitoring functionality required.
