Li Series of Intelligent Cameras are First to Market with Ultra-Wide Dynamic Range Sensor, Selectable JPEG and H.264 Compression

DALLAS (September 25, 2006) -Heightening the effectiveness of digital video surveillance through camera-head intelligence, Lumenera Corporation has introduced a series of cameras that leverage Texas Instruments Incorporated’s (TI) (NYSE:TXN) DaVinci™ technology to deliver advanced image processing, video analytics and a variety of compression techniques.  The Li family of intelligent surveillance cameras targets security applications that demand preemptive measures in critical environments such as airports, border control and commercial properties. The Li045, Lumenera’s initial intelligent camera to be offered with TI’s DaVinci technology, is the first to make use of an ultra-wide dynamic range (120+dB) sensor, which overcomes the issue of washed out images in challenging lighting environments.  This enables quality images in all situations to ensure that critical video is captured.  Additionally, the Li045 is the first intelligent camera to market with selectable JPEG and H.264 compression to address user requirements for higher quality images or lower bandwidth to stream video data.

By harnessing the DaVinci technology-based processor, the Li series enables analysis at the camera head, relieving the network of loading real-time video to backroom servers.  For a fraction of the cost of a dedicated server, TI’s DaVinci technology allows the camera itself to run the full suite of analytics from ObjectVideo® On Board™. ObjectVideo’s technology allows users to easily define rules to the camera view and determine if objects enter a specified area of interest or simply appear in the camera view. These rules are processed within the intelligent device for real-time comparison to the video analysis.

Lumenera Selects Pixim Chipsets With Ultra Wide Dynamic Range to Deliver Excellent Image Quality 24/7 For Military, Homeland Security and High-Value Asset Monitoring

Mountain View, Calif.-Sept 20, 2006 - Pixim Incorporated's Orca Chipset, known for delivering wide dynamic range, excellent color rendition and image quality, in any lighting conditions 24/7, is integrated into Lumenera’s two new surveillance TCP/IP camera offerings – the Le045 and Li045 with video analytics, set for sampling this October and December respectively.

Pixim’s Orca Chipset, the only all digital image capture solution, is a pivotal technology component that advances intelligent video capabilities, increases full field-of-view detection in extreme lighting, and provides a highly-usable security image. Lumenera’s new IP cameras take full advantage of the Orca chipset’s superior data capture capabilities with 128MB on-board memory to allow for pre- and post-events to be stored for later download.

Pixim’s patented Digital Pixel System® (DPS) technology converts light to a digital signal directly at the point of capture in the image sensor, enabling each pixel to have independent, optimized exposure times to deliver the highest image quality.

Le11059- offering resolution of more than 30 NTSC cameras

Designed for higher-end security applications, this camera model is ideal for critical surveillance applications where intimate scene detail is required.

Streaming full 4008x2672 resolution at up to 5 frames per second, these cameras deliver outstanding picture quality and performance across a standard 10/100BaseT network interface. A large 35mm format CCD sensor is capable of scanning 2600+ lines of resolution using progressive scan technology–an ideal solution for capturing moving object across broad scenes. A larger SLR Canon Bayonet-Mount provides remote control of focus and iris through standard SLR lenses – offering excellent quality and range of focal lengths. This camera is available in both colour or monochrome and is offered with optional environmental enclosures.

Streaming full 1920x1080 resolution at up to 15 frames/sec, these cameras deliver outstanding picture quality and low light performance.  Large 2/3" CCD sensor uses progressive scan technology - ideal for capturing high-speed moving objects. Adjustable JPEG and MJPEG compressed still-images or live streaming video, are provided across a standard 10/100BaseT network.

The Le259 is provided with a larger SLR K-Mount. This provides remote control of focus and iris through SLR lenses - offering excellent quality and range of focal lengths.
