Poor performance is often encountered for CCTV cameras in backlit situations such as lobby areas, shop entrances, and automated teller machine vestibules. The camera's auto exposure function only allows for clear images of the indoor scene and cannot accommodate the bright sunlight outdoors. The second portion of the video clip demonstrates Lumenera's Le045C Ultra-Wide Dynamic Range camera, that provides consistently clear images of backlit windows and other high-contrast situations with no special modes to enable or configure. The unique architecture of the image sensor device in the Le045C provides for 30 fps capture of glare-free images of ever-changing bright exterior areas, indoor areas, and areas in shadow, all in the same image at the same time.
