Lumenera Unveils Its First Intelligent Camera Model with OnBoard Video Analytics
Lumenera's new intelligent cameras greatly enhance the ability to detect potential threats and events in real-time, providing the opportunity for security personnel to interrupt a crime or attack while in progress. ObjectVideo analytics heighten the effectiveness of digital video surveillance by offering automated, real-time detection, tracking and analysis of objects of interest and identification of potential threats. Equipped with TI's DaVinci technology-based processors, the Li045 makes use of Pixim Incorporated's Orca Chipset - an ultra-wide dynamic range (120+dB) sensor which overcomes the issue of washed out images in challenging lighting environments, and offers excellent color rendition and image quality in any lighting conditions. Additionally, the Li045 is the first intelligent camera to market with selectable MJPEG and H.264 compression to address user requirements for higher quality images or lower bandwidth to stream video data.

ObjectVideo OnBoard embedded video analytics in the camera provide a new form of VMD (Video Motion Detection) that is more sophisticated than simple differencing of recent and stored images. ObjectVideo enables the system administrator to define specific rules that generate alerts based on the behavior and position of people, vehicles, and objects relative to a known scene called a view. Rules can be defined using either ObjectVideo host applications or a soon-to-be-released web-browser graphical interface. This video clip will first demonstrate Standard Low Dynamic Range. Poor performance is often encountered for CCTV cameras in backlit situations such as lobby areas, shop entrances, and automated teller machine vestibules. The camera's auto exposure function only allows for clear images of the indoor scene and cannot accommodate the bright sunlight outdoors. The second portion of the video clip demonstrates Lumenera's Le045C Ultra-Wide Dynamic Range camera, that provides consistently clear images of backlit windows and other high-contrast situations with no special modes to enable or configure. The unique architecture of the image sensor device in the Le045C provides for 30 fps capture of glare-free images of ever-changing bright exterior areas, indoor areas, and areas in shadow, all in the same image at the same time.
