Increased Speed, Greater Versatility and Enhanced Sensitivity with Lumenera's 2 Megapixel Camera
Lumenera’s INFINITY2-2 USB 2.0 CCD microscopy cameras offer excellent
sensitivity, high 1616x1216 resolution, and on board processing. Available in either color or monochrome, the INFINITY2-2 family of cameras is an ideal solution for brightfield, darkfield, and DIC imaging applications where higher resolution archiving, outstanding image quality, and a wide dynamic range are routinely required.
Live video preview provides for real-time focus, while auto exposure and auto white balance efficiently capture your optimal image. The INFINITY2-2 is fully supported by Lumenera’s INFINITY CAPTURE software for complete camera control, as well as INFINITY ANALYZE - image software package for advanced camera control, image processing, measuring and annotation. Full integration with popular third-party imaging applications is available through our TWAIN drivers.

Hands-Free Operation with INFINITY Cameras
For occasions when hands-free operation is critical, Lumenera recommends the use of a programmable footswitch to produce quality images. Using only your foot to activate any keyboard command, these INFINITY camera compatible devices are ideal for a variety of applications including labs, environments involving sterile procedures, inspecting delicate components that require the use of two hands such as electronics, and situations where using a keyboard or mouse to capture images is unsafe or inconvenient.

LEARN MORE ABOUT LUMENERA CAMERAS
Case Study: University of Auckland Research Labs
“After testing a number of competitive cameras, we found that no one could replicate the image quality of the INFINITY2-1 camera. The School of Biological Sciences has chosen the INFINITY2-1C as its camera of choice.” Dr. Peter Cattin, Ph.D., School Manager, School of Biological Science, The University of Auckland, NZ.
The School of Biological Sciences (SBS) at The University of Auckland in New Zealand incorporates a wide range of disciplines underpinning research and education, in a variety of fields including Bioinformatics, Biomedicine, Bioscience Enterprise, Ecology, Marine Biology, Microbiology and Plant Science. With over 30 research projects on the go, the school required an upgrade to the equipment in their research laboratories that would dramatically improve efficiency.
The SBS was challenged with finding a well-priced complete microscopy imaging solution capable of handling a wide range of applications. With such a great variety of uses and users, the software solution had to be easy to use and Mac compatible. In order for professors to monitor student activity and progress, all cameras had to connect into one single network. Most important was the ability to produce high quality images with superior color reproduction.

CORPORATE NEWS
Lumenera's Manufacturing Department
Lumenera’s manufacturing department is recognized for consistently developing high quality cameras and performing meticulous quality assurance testing to ensure all standards are met. The past five years have seen this department grow ten-fold in full time staff. Each team member brings expertise and skills from their many different backgrounds, several possessing advanced optics experience from major telecom companies. Consisting of eight teams, the manufacturing department constructs a Lumenera camera through the following steps:
- Cleaning imager and glass
- Installing the imager into the enclosure
- Performing functional and cleanliness test
- Performing burn-in test
- Capturing final images
- Rigorous quality inspection
This procedure is performed for each of the 882 camera models and variants that Lumenera offers to meet the needs of our users.
Lumenera's manufacturing process is unique from others in that it uses a sophisticated proprietary process for cleaning and testing cameras, making for an efficient and seamless assembly. Our INFINITY scientific cameras require additional time and expertise in order to capture high quality images free of dust and imperfections. Microscope optics and colonnaded lights can often magnify defects, therefore we select the highest quality sensors, and take additional precautions in the cleaning and inspection stages to ensure our INFINITY cameras are flawless.
Most importantly, the manufacturing department performs 100% outgoing inspection on all Lumenera cameras. Images captured at the end of the build process are examined for defects, the enclosure is reviewed for imperfections, the part number constructed is compared to the part number ordered, and the serial number is recorded. Lumenera’s commitment to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction would not be possible without the skilled and knowledgeable manufacturing department making sure the finest products are delivered to our customers.
