LUMENERA LAUNCHES NEW CUSTOM FORM FACTOR CMOS CAMERAS

The new Lu173, Lu273 and Lu373 cameras demonstrate Lumenera's proven ability to customize and deliver alternative form factor imaging solutions.

These single board cameras are a cost-effective solution for applications requiring small form factor megapixel resolution, fast frame rates, high dynamic range, and high sensitivity in uncontrolled lighting environments.

An ultra-small sensor head measuring
2 1/2cm x 1 1/2cm, and slim processing board make these cameras an excellent fit for reduced-space systems such as handhelds, unmanned vehicles, and discreet surveillance cameras. A flex cable between the sensor head and processing board can be extended up to 10cm, allowing the sensor head to be mounted at a variety of angles. Megapixel resolution provides for a wide field of view commonly found in cameras with a much larger factor, while a high-speed driver delivers up to 30 fps - suitable for fast-event image capture and quality control in high-throughput manufacturing environments. Expect the same functionality as our standard Lu series of cameras.

UPGRADED SENSORS FOR LUMENERA'S Lu120 AND Lu125 USB 2.0 CAMERAS

Lumenera recently upgraded the popular Lu120 and Lu125 USB 2.0 cameras to the IBIS5-B-1300 Cypress sensor, dramatically improving performance of the on-chip A/D conversion to 10 real bits (1048 grey levels) with no missing codes.

Replacing the IBIS5-A-1300 sensor, this 1.3 megapixel camera continues to feature 15 fps at full resolution, and GPI/O for external synchronization. Whereas most CMOS sensor-based industrial cameras feature a rolling shutter, the IBIS5-B-1300's simultaneous integration and readout allow for the capture of fast motion objects with no smear effect. This sensor's logarithmic response supports the board-level Lu120 and enclosed Lu125's high dynamic range, making it suitable for applications with high light contrast scenes.

INTERNATIONAL POWER SUPPLIES

Lumenera is now offering a new series of wall mount universal switching power supplies for the Lu, Lw, Le and INFINITY camera lines.

LUMENERA'S 6.6 MEGAPIXEL USB 2.0 CAMERAS DEPLOYED BY SPG DATA 3D

SPG DATA 3D, a supplier of automated turnkey systems for acquisition of three-dimension (3D) coordinates, has recently upgraded to Lumenera’s 6.6 megapixel USB 2.0 digital camera for quality and in-process control inspection. 

Previously, SPG DATA 3D had fully integrated Lumenera’s Lu175 (1.3 megapixel USB 2.0) camera into its 3D measurement tool. As a company that specializes in the customization of 3D systems for a wide variety of applications with very strict requirements, SPG DATA 3D recently had a demand for increased resolution. Myriam Côté, VP Engineering, R&D, SPG DATA 3D, shared her views on why she selected Lumenera’s Lw620 camera for design into their specialized system:  

• Wide camera selection – Lumenera offers 40+ industrial camera models and custom imaging solutions to fulfill a wide range of project requirements.
• High monochrome resolution – the Lw620 has a unique 6.6 megapixel image sensor for increased image detail under various lighting conditions. The higher resolution allows for tighter tolerances required in 2D and 3D applications.
