LUMENERA ANNOUNCES ACQUISITION BY ROPER INDUSTRIES

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, - Aug 18, 2006 – Lumenera Corporation, announces that it has signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by Roper Industries, Inc., of Duluth, Georgia.

Lumenera designs and manufactures high performance digital cameras for industrial, scientific and security applications.  Earlier this year, Lumenera topped Ottawa Business Journal's list as the region's fastest growing company, reporting a three-year revenue increase of 721 per cent. It was also chosen best technology company at the most recent OCRI awards.
